RingExtruder: Cost Reduction

Decreased Material Costs

The extremely effective mixing of the RingExtruder often allows for reducing the concentration of expensive materials, such as binders, while delivering equal or improved product quality. An example would be compounding of ceramic formulations, where the RingExtruder allows for substantial reduction of binder while maintaining quality through excellent dispersion and wetting of the binder.

Decreased Operational Costs

• Energy consumption is reduced. Less dependence upon higher shear kneading blocks and better control of material flow can be expected to translate to less energy required. Because energy costs have fluctuated substantially over the past few years, a secondary benefit is a more stable and predictable production cost.

• Material waste and labor is eliminated. Many materials currently produced in discontinuous batches could be produced continuously much more efficiently with a RingExtruder. Material waste and the labor associated with loading/unloading separate batches and with plant logistics is eliminated.

• Less production floor space is needed. A smaller equipment footprint requires less floor space to be constructed or allows your existing space to be used for other needs.
